The project is intended to provide a sustainable solution for the discharge of surface and storm water. The project will also reduce de-watering costs in construction projects around the country and preserve foundations of buildings and underground structures.
The project has been designed to preserve the marine environment, as the water complies with the environmental assessment standards, and will discharge surface water and groundwater through marine pipelines, which will stretch approximately 10 kilometres from the coastline. The project also include a 7.1 kilometres marine outfall.
